Scotch Row
Scotch Row is a long contemporary laneway of approximately 200 metres within Barangaroo, running parallel to the waterfront promenade.
It applies a fine-grain approach and is dominated by food and beverage operators, with some limited apparel retail and back-of-house servicing also accommodated.
Defined by contemporary materials and limited alfresco, the lane provides a controlled pedestrian environment that contrasts with the waterfront.
Runs 200 m beside the Barangaroo waterfront, with the promenade alongside, and reads clearly from both ends.
Trades early morning to evening, breakfast through dinner. Planters narrow it to 4.5 m, which helps people linger the whole length.
Small operators spread along the full 200 m, with glass from 40 to 90%. The variety is by design.
At 6 m it sits on the wide side, but the planters bring it back to about 4.5 m, a better walking width.
